Crystal Girlies Should Look at the Ground

Crystals, interesting minerals, pretty rocks, and all sorts of cool objects are at our feet all the time. Quartz is one of the most common crystals in the world and is easily found in gravel, near certain geologic formations, or in places you wouldn’t expect. Industrialization hasn’t taken it all away.

With issues like unethical mining, overpriced crystals, and untraceable sources, it feels better to enhance a collection with natural pieces you know don’t include child labor in the process. It might take some looking, or a good eye, but interesting and beautiful crystals are around if you look. You would be surprised how many varieties of crystals have the same chemical makeup, with small inclusions introducing interesting colors. Quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, and many more have the same chemical makeup. Look around! You may find something cool.
